Aliaksandr Yarashuk

Aliaksandr Yarashuk is the chairman of the Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions, which unites several independent trade unions, including the Free Belarusian Trade Union (FBTU), the Free Metalworkers’ Trade Union (FMTU), the Belarusian Trade Union of Radio-Electronic Industry Workers (REP), and the Belarusian Independent Trade Union (BIU). On April 19, 2022, searches were conducted at his workplace and home, and equipment was seized. Aliaksandr Yarashuk was detained and placed in pre-trial detention. On September 11, 2025, it became known that he had been taken to Lithuania.
